28 Weeks!

Wow! I have been completely deliquent in the blogging world! Well second trimester came and went:) We're having a baby boy!!! Once I hit 16 weeks I started to feel much better in terms of nausea. Since that subsided I have been doing pretty well. I finally started to show at week 23 which made me super happy:) Week 25 I somehow became incredibly itchy. I thought it was normal and so did my doctor, but by week 26 it was pretty severe. I had ice packs on my chest 24/7 and could not concentrate. I finally was prescribed prednisone and thank goodness it has subsided. Just 3 more days of meds left to go! Scott started working on the nursery this weekend and I have been nesting like a nut! Constant cleaning, cooking and baking. I still have 12 more weeks to go, my freezer is going to be stocked w/ food!!!

Week 10

I've been moving along nicely (with lots of nausea), until yesterday I had a scare. Just a tiny bit of spotting but towards the rear ( you know what I mean!) My dr thinks it was proably due to some constipation and/or hemorrhoids. Needless to say, eating lots more fruit and hoping no more spotting. Looking forward to second tri, it seems so far away!!!

Baby Time!

Wow, I have really slacked on posting! In the last few months, we've been kind of busy:) I'm 9 weeks pregnant with our first baby!!! It's really hard to believe that this is happening. I had an ultrasound yesterday and we saw the fluttering heartbeat. Best thing I've seen yet! We're both very excited, nervous, etc but I know we are on our way to enjoy a miracle.

Catching Up

It's been a little while since my last post, and as usual lots of changes. We just came back from our vacation to Florida, visiting my in-laws. We had great weather but it was far from relaxing......Let's just say I need a vacation:) While we were away, Cooper had her toe amputated. Unfortunately the meds weren't working, so we had no choice. She's doing well now, she just looks like a train wreck. She has the e-collar on, bandage on her foot, stitches in her face.....To boot, she decided she no longer wanted her food. We started to get concerned and then found out the vet had been giving her baby food mixed in w/ her regular food while we were on vacation. She was SUPER SPOILED!!!! Her stitches come out Thursday, I can't wait for her to get back to normal.
This week I started my new position at work. So far everyone is very warm and welcoming, but I'm still pretty overwhelmed. I'm managing 12 people and have projects of my own.....I'm just going to do my best and try to keep my cool. Scott also started working days instead of nights, so we're both adjusting. I'm happy we can have dinner together again:)
So with all this comotion, today I'm taking it easy, cleaning, cooking and hoping to shop this afternoon. Tomorrow my brother and his family are coming over to see our new house, looking forward to seeing them and showing them our new digs.

Busy Bee

Today my best friend and her husband and kids came by for a visit. She is my biggest fan and practically my sister, I am so lucky to have a friend like her:) It was so much fun having them see the house for the first time! We have very similar taste in decorating so I was happy she loved it:) After we gave the tour and chatted for awhile, we decided to go into town for lunch. I had the French Dip which literally melted in my mouth.....yum:) Afterward, we all headed back to the house for some naps. What a great day!

Tomorrow I am headed to my MIL's to help her pack up the house. They sold it this week and it wasn't even on the market yet!!! I am really happy for them, the house has a lot of memories and sentimental value (my FIL built it), but.......it is time to sell. Afterward, I'm going to meet up with a friend who is in from out of town. I haven't seen her since last May, so I'm really excited. I hope the weather holds out!

It's Starting to Come Together...

I am happy to report that I have all of the boxes unpacked! I have a little bit more to do in terms of putting things away. Pictures, etc probably won't get hung until we paint. I have no patience, I want everything completed yesterday:) Now we just to furnish our living room and we pretty much have all the rooms filled. We placed the order today on the couch and chairs, I'm so excited but have to wait 8-10 weeks for it to arrive. Seriously, what takes that long? Don't they mass produce this stuff??!

Anyway, since I'm telling you all about the furniture, I might as well let you in on a funny story......We placed the order with the Wilmington, DE store. We had spent a few hours with the lady a few months back and felt that she should get the sale (not to mention- no sales tax!) Since it had been awhile, we wanted to go back and look at the stuff one more time, but didn't want to go to DE. So she told me to go to the PA store, just don't use my real name (guess it messes with her commission). So being the loyal consumer that I am, I created my alter ego.....Dina Landy. I have NO IDEA where this name came from, but it just rolled off my tongue. I couldn't help but laugh every time she called me Dina. By the end, I had to give her a fake address as well, I felt so horrible!!!! Scott nearly died laughing, we had lunch after we 'escaped' the store and couldn't get over my little charade. I may need to keep Dina around:)

At Last!!!!!!!

It's been over 11 months since we moved out of our first home. All of our belongings have been in storage and I have missed them so:) Friday was finally the big day, our movers arrived with all of our stuff- yippee! It was unexpectedly very emotional for me. Once I saw the first box I just started to weep. It's been a very long 11 months, with many ups and downs. I have certainly learned a great deal during this process. I know now that all of this is just stuff. We can get along without it, but boy does it feel nice to have it all back:) As I unpacked each box, I was amazed. I really had forgotten all of the beautiful things we had accumulated and received as gifts. We are sooooo blessed and I feel very grateful. When we sold our first house last March, I really did not know where we would end up. I am relieved that everything worked out and we were able to endure life's curve balls......albeit not easy:)
