Busy Bee

Today my best friend and her husband and kids came by for a visit. She is my biggest fan and practically my sister, I am so lucky to have a friend like her:) It was so much fun having them see the house for the first time! We have very similar taste in decorating so I was happy she loved it:) After we gave the tour and chatted for awhile, we decided to go into town for lunch. I had the French Dip which literally melted in my mouth.....yum:) Afterward, we all headed back to the house for some naps. What a great day!

Tomorrow I am headed to my MIL's to help her pack up the house. They sold it this week and it wasn't even on the market yet!!! I am really happy for them, the house has a lot of memories and sentimental value (my FIL built it), but.......it is time to sell. Afterward, I'm going to meet up with a friend who is in from out of town. I haven't seen her since last May, so I'm really excited. I hope the weather holds out!

It's Starting to Come Together...

I am happy to report that I have all of the boxes unpacked! I have a little bit more to do in terms of putting things away. Pictures, etc probably won't get hung until we paint. I have no patience, I want everything completed yesterday:) Now we just to furnish our living room and we pretty much have all the rooms filled. We placed the order today on the couch and chairs, I'm so excited but have to wait 8-10 weeks for it to arrive. Seriously, what takes that long? Don't they mass produce this stuff??!

Anyway, since I'm telling you all about the furniture, I might as well let you in on a funny story......We placed the order with the Wilmington, DE store. We had spent a few hours with the lady a few months back and felt that she should get the sale (not to mention- no sales tax!) Since it had been awhile, we wanted to go back and look at the stuff one more time, but didn't want to go to DE. So she told me to go to the PA store, just don't use my real name (guess it messes with her commission). So being the loyal consumer that I am, I created my alter ego.....Dina Landy. I have NO IDEA where this name came from, but it just rolled off my tongue. I couldn't help but laugh every time she called me Dina. By the end, I had to give her a fake address as well, I felt so horrible!!!! Scott nearly died laughing, we had lunch after we 'escaped' the store and couldn't get over my little charade. I may need to keep Dina around:)

At Last!!!!!!!

It's been over 11 months since we moved out of our first home. All of our belongings have been in storage and I have missed them so:) Friday was finally the big day, our movers arrived with all of our stuff- yippee! It was unexpectedly very emotional for me. Once I saw the first box I just started to weep. It's been a very long 11 months, with many ups and downs. I have certainly learned a great deal during this process. I know now that all of this is just stuff. We can get along without it, but boy does it feel nice to have it all back:) As I unpacked each box, I was amazed. I really had forgotten all of the beautiful things we had accumulated and received as gifts. We are sooooo blessed and I feel very grateful. When we sold our first house last March, I really did not know where we would end up. I am relieved that everything worked out and we were able to endure life's curve balls......albeit not easy:)

Let there be light!

I am happy to report that we now have lighting in our bedroom! It looks great, I'm so proud of Scott:) Now we just have to do all the finishing work- caulking, painting, etc. I would say we are right on track, however, we had a mini disaster strike today..... Somehow the dogs decided they wanted to break out of jail during their nap (aka their cage). I'm not sure how they did it, but when I opened the door to their room, the were out and about! They proceeded to claw the door and frame to shreds.....needless to say I am NOT happy with them!!!! So now in addition to finishing the bedroom, we have to repair this little mess.......they are lucky they are cute!

The Next Chapter

Change change change should be my theme song! With everything that has been going on in my life recently, I figured now would be a good time to start blogging about it, hence....The Next Chapter.

Let's see, we finally did it and made the big move to PA! This was quite a journey for us, but things finally feel like they are falling into place. It took us 10 months to sell our home, then another 10 months of living at my in-laws until we were finally able to move forward and buy our new home. Since we moved in, we've already done so many projects, I'm sure I'll be blogging about them in the future! Today I'm hoping we can finish up the recessed lights in the Master bedroom....that is if I can get Scott out of bed (Valentine's day hit us pretty hard-lol!) Once that's done, we need to finish up the crown molding and painting before our furniture gets here. The movers are scheduled to come this Friday, I cannot wait!!!! To be reunited with our stuff is going to feel like birthday, wedding and holidays wrapped into one! In addition to our new home, I got myself a new J-O-B:) Same company but new position and new location. So now I will be even closer to home-yippee! I am really excited for this new role, it was really time for Change Change Change:)
